Oaxaca Dreams

TexereOaxaca, Mexico

Works created during an artist residency at Texere in Oaxaca, studying natural dyeing traditions with local plants — marush, nutshells (cáscaras de nuez), rose flowers, Brazil wood (palo de Brasil), marigold (cempasúchil), and indigo (añil). Exploring local landscapes, recollections, and native plants through painting, weaving, and installation.

In Oaxaca I studied natural dyeing traditions, working with handwoven fabric and learning to weave on frame looms. The landscape became material — plants I gathered transformed into color on cloth.
